The tour included Voestalpine Innovation Centre for Green Steel and the rolling plant for wire rod.
The event gathered 25 onsite participants and 5 online attendees, offering a great opportunity to review the project’s progress and discuss technical developments and challenges in the last stage of the project.
Yulia Fischer, Program Manager at the Materials innovation institute (M2i) in Delft, and coordinator of the Grade2XL project attests:
“The consortium achieved remarkable results paving the road to wider implementation of the WAAM technology. Thanks to all partners for their hard work and dedication in transforming the borders of possible!“
Exiting results have been booked in the last half year. Two demonstrators are already printed and now in the machining and test phase. The first results are very promising. Also in the other work packages, such as the Topology Optimization, In-line Inspection and the Life Cycle Analysis big steps are being made.
In the next half year, the remaining six demonstrators are being printed allowing next steps such as demonstrator testing and certification. All end-users are looking forward to finally seeing their demonstrators completed.
Stay tuned !
